This LibGuide is a general overview of our new and growing collection of materials on law and legal professions. We'd like these to serve as supplemental aids for law students to explore as they begin thinking about life after law school. We'd like to thank Donna Gerson and the Career Strategies Office for their substantial donation and assistance making these materials more visible and accessible to our law students and patrons.
The guide is divided into twenty-three sections: eleven that are subject categories of the collection (Just Starting Out, Networking, Mentoring & Advice, Personality & Emotional Intelligence, Stress Management, More Specific Fields, Diversity & Inclusion, Gender Equity, Leadership & Success, Vault Guides, and How to... Guides), eleven career resource guides from the Career Strategies Office (Business & Entrepreneurship Law, Compliance, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Health Law, Immigration & Refugee Law, Sports Law, Resources for Law Students with Disabilities, Resources for LGBTQIAA Students, and Resources for Veterans), and one section on working remotely. At the time of this LibGuide's creation, the rise of COVID-19 has sewn disorder around the world and forced an unprecedented conversion of companies and people into an era of working from home to better practice social distancing. While the Remote Work in a Time of Social Distancing page has been included to address new and pressing needs and resources in a period of rapid change, we expect that the information resources it provides will become increasingly relevant and important to our students and patrons.
